Organic Natural Baby Soap Information

Along with an organic natural baby soap being safe for your child's skin, it is also kind on the environment as well. The reason why such soaps are safe to use on children is that they contain no artificial ingredients, which can cause their sensitive skin to become irritated. Today there are numerous different kinds of natural organic baby soaps that one can buy. But what you may find that where one soap suits one child it may not actually suit yours so you may need to try several before you find the right one.

Yet even though you would be mainly using these kinds of soaps on your newborn baby these can also be used by other members of the family also. Although using ready-made natural organic products is good for your child's skin, you could if you want save money and make your own soap instead. Below we go through the steps you will need to take in order to make your own.

Along with the ingredients, there will be certain pieces of equipment that you will need as well. A large saucepan into which the mixture will be prepared, some goggles and a good pair of gloves. Step 1 - First, you will need to measure out all the ingredients in order to make your soap. For this particular soap recipe, you will need 15oz of olive oil, 5oz of palm oil and 5oz of coconut oil all of which should have been organically grown.

As well as the oils, you will need 8oz of distilled water and 3.5 oz of lye. Step 2 - Next, you need to prepare the lye you do this by adding it to the water and once it comes into contact with a chemical reaction occurs. As the lye comes into contact with the water it actually makes it heat up and it is best if you carry out this step outside because the mixture also lets off fumes.

Once the lye has been thoroughly mixed with the water, you need to let it stand in order for it to cool down. It is best to let it reach room temperature before you start the next step of the soap making process. Step 3 - After the lye mixture has reached room temperature, you now need to add the oils to this. But before you can do this, you will need to heat them up so place them all in the other pan and wait until they have reached the correct temperature.

Using a thermometer will help you to know when the right temperature has been reached for the oils. Step 4 - As soon as the oils have heated up you remove the pan from the heat and then very slowly begin to stir in the cooled down lye mixture. If you want, you can either mix the soap together by hand or use a stick blender instead.

Blending the mixture together by hand will take around 1 hour before the mixture is ready to be poured into a soap mould. However using a blender can save you not only a lot of energy but time as well. You know when the mixture is ready becomes it has become much thicker and opaque to look at. Step 5 - As soon as the mixture has reached the right consistency then you can pour it into moulds.

Once in the moulds you should allow the soap to stand for around 24 hours in a cool place so that it can set properly. After this time, the organic natural baby soap that you have made will be ready for you to use.
